GHK developed set of actions to guide the GTAA's economic development efforts. The project involved an assessment of air services agreements, best practices for economic development at airports around the world and consultation with key stakeholders. Particular emphasis was placed on attempting to harmonize the GTAA efforts with those of the municipalities surrounding Toronto Pearson.

GHK was retained by the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership to prepare an economic development strategic plan for the entire county. The development of the strategy involved the use of economic-base analysis, labour force analysis, extensive stakeholder consultation, as well as the use of facilitated workshops and focus groups.
Alaska Canada Rail Link Study
Yukon Territory, 2006-2007
GHK carried out an evaluation of northern Pacific coast options for an international gateway development. The study provided an assessment of the North Pacific Rim container trade to 2050 using a scenario-based approach. In addition, west coast port capacity issues were addressed and total through-cost comparisons were provided of various port gateways including one being considered in Alaska .

North American Container Terminal Development Feasibility Study

Working for one of the world's largest container terminal operators, GHK assessed a US$3billion potential port and rail development. Analysis included current port services markets, future expansion plans and a competitiveness assessment of different port choice options, including total through costs and transit times for the transpacific liner shipping market. Volume forecasts and risk assessments of current West Coast of North America port facilities were produced.

Feasibility of Port Operations in the City of Toronto

GHK was assigned to prepare a feasibility analysis of port operations in Toronto . This included the preparation of cargo throughput forecasts, the identification quayside requirements and an overall economic impact analysis of port activity in the Toronto region.
An Economic Impact Assessment of the Film, Television and New Media Cluster in the Province of Ontario

GHK prepared a profile and economic impact assessment of the Ontario Film, Television and New Media industries. Employing a cluster-based approach along with advanced applications of input-output analysis, GHK focused on understanding the linkages that exist between the key players in the film, television and new media cluster in the province while providing a dollar value economic impact assessment.
Labour Force Readiness Plan
City of Toronto, 2001-2002
GHK undertook a labour force readiness study to assist the City of Toronto with an assessment of labour force needs in the City and region over the next 10 years. The study provided a forecast of the demand for labour skills, as well as identifying current and likely future gaps in the supply of education and training. The study made recommendations to assist the City in crafting policy and formed the basis of the Toronto Labour Force Readiness Plan.
